Table clock in kingwood veneered case, J. Dupuis London

8-day movement, original verge escapement, striking the hours on a single bell, pull quarter repeat system on 6 bells, well engraved back plate, arched brass dial, mock pendulum and date aperture in the matted centre within the silvered chapter ring, the background of the mock pendulum aperture signed J. Dupuis London, a silvered strike/silent ring in the arch, the kingwood veneered case with a small drawer underneath the movement, the oak case decorated with black stained en gilded brass mouldings, gilded turned feet and vase shaped finials, handles to the sides, height without finial 59,5 cm, around 1720.
