suspended pendulum, striking the hours and half hours on a single bell, signed on the back plate Waltrin Fils à Paris; enamel dial with Roman ciphers for the hours and Arabic ciphers for the minutes, signed Waltrin Fils Hger du Roy, pierced, engraved and gilded brass hands; fire gilded brass case, gilded brass fretwork in the sides, the case crowned by 2 putti and a globe, Louis XVI, height 55 cm, to be dated around 1780.
Tardy mentions Waltrin fils aîné (Charles-Henry). Workshop Vieille Rue du Temple 1767-1789. City clockmaker and ordinary clockmaker to the king.
